Catholic Virtues
At St Teresa’s, our children are inspired by the Virtues set out in our Catholic Schools’ Pupil Profile. These values are inspired by the teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits and are designed to help young people grow in character, faith, and service to others. These virtues encourage our children at St Teresa’s to become the best version of themselves and to use their gifts for the good of others.
The virtues include being Grateful and Generous, recognising God’s blessings and sharing freely with others; Attentive and Discerning, taking time to notice what is happening around them and making thoughtful, wise choices; Compassionate and Loving, showing kindness, forgiveness, and care to everyone; Faith-filled and Hopeful, trusting in God and looking positively to the future; Curious and Active, eager to learn and make a difference in their community; Intentional and Prophetic, living with purpose and courageously speaking up for what is right; Eloquent and Truthful, expressing themselves clearly and honestly, using their words to build others up; and Learned and Wise, seeking knowledge and understanding, and using what they have learned to make good decisions and serve others.
By practising these virtues, children develop spiritually, morally, and socially. They learn to reflect on their actions, listen to others, and put their faith into action, becoming young people who lead with integrity, respect, and a commitment to justice.
