Key Stage 1

Welcome to KS1 at St Teresa's Catholic Primary School. Our Key stage 1 phase is led by Ms Howell.

Within Key stage 1 there are 3 classes. They are as follows

Year 1 - Ms Howell (Phase leader)

Year 1/2 - Mrs Islam

Year 2 Miss Gregors 

Our aim is to create a happy, nurturing and inspiring environment where children are at the heart of everything we do. We want every child to feel valued, confident and excited about learning, while developing the knowledge, skills and independence they need to flourish.

In Key Stage 1, we follow the National Curriculum, providing a broad and balanced range of learning experiences. We encourage children to be curious, creative and resilient learners, making connections between their learning and the world around them. 

Our Year 1 and Year 2 children work closely together as a phase, creating a strong sense of community and belonging. Children have opportunities to learn and play alongside one another, share staff and expertise, and take part in experiences together. Throughout the year, the children come together for trips, Celebration of the Word, special events and shared playtimes, helping them to build friendships, confidence and positive relationships across the phase.

Above all, we want our Key Stage 1 children to love learning, love reading and love coming to school. Through our Catholic ethos, we nurture the whole child and encourage every pupil to grow in confidence, kindness and fath, knowing that they are a valued and important member of our school family,
