Keeping Healthy

Throughout the school curriculum, we teach our children the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Our School Nutrition Action Group [SNAG] is a working party that we have formed to review the school food culture at St Teresa's. Our SNAG members meet weekly with Miss Evans to plan and develop ideas that will help to improve our children's attitude towards food.

This year, the SNAG members had an integral role in planning, organising and executing our first 'St Teresa's Farmers' Market'. Local producers were invited to sell their fresh, delicious produce. The event was a huge success. and we are hoping to make it an annual event!

Within school, we run a programme called Food for Life, which aims to make healthy, tasty and sustainable meals the norm, reconnecting people with where their food comes from, teaching them how it's grown and cooked, and championing the importance of well-sourced ingredients.

We are pleased to announce that our school caterers - Chartwells - have recently achieved the Silver Food for Life Catering Mark. This means that our school kitchen focuses on the use of organic produce, ethically and environmentally friendly food, locally-sourced ingredients and steps to offer healthier menus.
